Why sauna?
Feel better. Slow down. Connect.
A great sauna session should be a sensory experience.
It’s more than simply getting hot. It’s the warmth of the room. The smell of wood. The rush of steam (“löyly” in Finnish) moving through the sauna and across your skin after pouring water on the stones.
Heat. Stones. Water. Steam.
These are the fundamentals of the sauna experience, and they shape the way we think about every sauna we rent, design, and sell.
What the research shows about the benefits of sauna.
Sauna feels good. Research suggests its effects may go beyond the moment. Studies have associated regular sauna use and heat exposure with a range of potential health and well-being benefits:
Heart health. Long-term observational research has associated more frequent sauna use with lower rates of fatal cardiovascular events. Read the research.
Relaxation & well-being. Research on sauna users points to relaxation, mental recovery, social connection, and improved well-being as important parts of the sauna experience. Read the research.
Recovery. Research suggests post-exercise heat exposure may support aspects of physical recovery, including muscle soreness. Read the research.
Sleep. Sauna users commonly report relaxation and better perceived sleep, although the evidence for sauna specifically improving sleep is still limited. Read the research.
Hot. Cold. Rest. Repeat.
The sauna ritual.
Sauna doesn’t have to be about seeing how long you can stay in the heat. Let it be about moving through the experience at your own pace.
Heat up. Settle into the heat. Pour water on the rocks. Enjoy the steam.
Cool Down. Step outside. Breathe in the fresh air. Give yourself time to cool off.
Rest. Sit and relax for a while. Drink some water.
Repeat. When you feel ready, head back in for another round.
Take your time.
There’s no rush.
Bring sauna home.
Make it your ritual.
The easiest way to make sauna part of your routine is to have it right outside your door.
Before work. After a run. At the end of a long day. On a cold night with friends. Sauna on your schedule.
